PROBLEM : The client is using Oracle Enterprise Edition 9i and the license is very expensive for their usage and wants to downgrade to a standard edition, without disturbing operations.
SOLUTION : dbSHIFT team studied the situation, analyzed the various possibilities on database schemas, features, partitioning, compressions to standard edition objects and proposed a plan of action. The team started working in the test environment and signed off in 100 days. The database was migrated successfully and with the support of both the teams the new standard edition DB was moved in production.
